OpenAI said Wednesday it had started a staged rollout of GPT-6 with Intelligent UI in ChatGPT, a format the company says can combine text with diagrams, charts, buttons and other interactive elements. OpenAI also says responses can begin before the model finishes processing a request or using tools. The announcement does not establish that the format improves answer accuracy or the models’ underlying performance.
OpenAI said the global rollout began Wednesday, Oct. 7, for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, with Free and Go scheduled to follow Thursday, Oct. 8. That schedule marks the start of the rollout, not confirmation that every eligible account already has access. Enterprise availability can also depend on workplace administrator settings.
The company says the update applies to Chat, not Work or Codex. It says Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise use GPT-6 Sol, while Free and Go use GPT-6 Luna. These plan-specific model assignments are part of OpenAI’s announcement; they do not show that the new interface itself improves model performance.
What can GPT-6 put in a ChatGPT response?
OpenAI says GPT-6 can generate graphics, buttons, forms, charts and interactive experiences within a conversation, or give a text-only answer when that suits the prompt. The company’s examples include a diagram of a seven-speed bicycle, recipe planning and interactive tools. They illustrate what OpenAI is presenting, but do not establish how useful the feature is across everyday questions.
OpenAI says the interface draws on a library of built-in components that can be streamed into a response, with a compiler processing the interface as it is generated. The company says this lets parts appear progressively instead of requiring users to wait for the full response. It also says GPT-6 can start replying while it processes a request or uses tools, then add information as it becomes available. Those are descriptions of presentation and timing, not comparative performance results.
The company says it trained GPT-6 to make layout and interaction choices, and assessed generated interfaces for clarity, usefulness and completeness. Aarush Selvan, an OpenAI product manager, said at a briefing that the feature could make “learning complex topics easier,” according to SiliconANGLE. OpenAI’s announcement does not provide independent testing of whether users learn more or get clearer answers with the feature.

Who gets the Intelligent UI rollout, and when?
The Oct. 7 announcement marks the beginning of the rollout for paid plans, not confirmation that all accounts in those plans received access at once. OpenAI set Oct. 8 as the start date for Free and Go. The company has not said how quickly the feature will reach individual accounts.
That distinction matters to users checking whether the new format is available in their ChatGPT account. OpenAI has given a rollout schedule by subscription tier, while access for Enterprise accounts can depend on administrator settings. The announcement does not confirm access account by account.
Does a visual response mean a better answer?
The interface announcement does not establish that it does. A diagram, chart or adjustable form may give users another way to explore a response, but a more visual presentation is not evidence that the underlying information is more accurate. OpenAI’s stated evaluation of interface clarity and completeness does not demonstrate improved factual accuracy, reasoning or user outcomes.
That separates the interface release from evidence about GPT-6’s general performance: the announcement does not show that visual formatting improves the model’s answers. SiliconANGLE reported that OpenAI had not said whether the extra interface elements affect token use, and that the reliability of visual elements against hallucinations remained unclear. The reporting provides no measurements that settle either question.
The established change is a new way to present some ChatGPT responses, with availability rolling out by plan. How often the system chooses interactive replies, how well they work for users and whether they affect token use remain unresolved in the cited reporting.
